Coffee Crisp - Canadian gold!

Friends are wonderful. Especially when they give you presents! A care package from a friend back in Canada landed Brian and I some sugary sweet Canadian snacks, including maple syrup, maple toffee spread, maple candy, Coffee Crisp chocolate bars and Smarties.

We have unanimously decided to postpone our Healthy Lifestyle for a few days - just until we finish off these treats!

I guess I cant understand how Kit Kats and Aunt Jemina pancake mix could actually be so special, but I'm sincerly glad that you received the blessing! Enjoy! But make sure you get back on the health chuck wagon soon, alright?

On April Fool's Day NPR ran a very long, very detailed segment on the unfortunate rise in the number of Maple Tree explosions cuased by leaving trees untapped this spring. The gist of the story is that the low carb health craze, combined with cheap caribean table syrup (made from slow cooking old maple furniture) has caused a massive decline in the demand for pure Maple Syrup. The industry foolishly responded by letting the trees sit untapped, which leads to dangerous pressure increases and tree explosions. They even aired tape of the terrific sounds of the explosions and interviewed family members of those killed or decapitated. Enjoy that Maple Syrup.... you could be saving lives.

I guess if you live in North America you don't think much of getting maple syrup and Nestle products.

The Nestle KitKat is not the same as the Hershey KitKat. Hershey produces the bar under license from Nestle and uses a slightly darker milk chocolate than Nestle use. I don't know if Coffee Crisp, Aero and Smarties are even available in the USA.

The idea behind the Pancake mix was to have something to go with the maple syrup. I don't know how readily available pancake mix is in Japan so that explains the pancake mix. Maple sugar is its own justification :)
